To demonstrate their intimate relation with the weaving industry in eastern Switzerland, an historical weaving lodge in Heiden has been bought and renovated. It houses a fully-working, ancient silk weaving loom on which former weaving techniques will be demonstrated.
The lodge has been carefully renovated to become a showcase of historical importance.
Its main feature is a weaving cellar in which
the olden-day weaving process is displayed.
Close by, at the Heiden 1 production site, a permanent exhibition featuring both old and present-day techniques provides an overview of the different sectors Sefar is active in.
The main attraction is a weaving cellar in which the weaving process can be performed as in the old days.
Weaving lodge and exhibition are open to public every last Saturday of the month from 10 to 12 a.m. At these times, a hand-operated weaving loom can be seen in action.
